I’ve read around this site, the sites that linked in the help section, and the internet, but still have questions about starting my grow.
1. Do I need put some kind of media in the Net Pot after I put the germinated seed on the grow disk — like, rockwool or a cube or soil or anything?
2. Should the water be at a level where the grow disk can wick it or should the water be below the Net Pot?
Any suggestions / recommendations much appreciated!

I would recommend stone or ceramic stones (small size), which I what I use. You don’t want to use any material that will put biological plant matter into your tank.
When seedlings are first starting – and until the roots extend beyond the net pots you should keep the water/nutrient level to the bottom of the net pots. Once the root system has developed, for maximum benefit to your plants, the water should be an inch or more from the bottom of the net pot.
